About usThe Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung (RLS) is a German political foundation affiliated with the German party “Die Linke”. RLS serves as a platform for progressive political education, transformative debates and critical thinking about democratic socialist political alternatives, as well as a Think Tank for progressive social developments in Germany and worldwide (www.rosalux.de/en).
The work of the RLS in Israel focuses on strengthening progressive elements of civil society, fostering dialogue on leftist alternatives to the political status quo as well as connecting progressive actors in Israel and Germany. It promotes democratic socialist political education based on the principles of solidarity, equality, social justice, feminism, anti-militarism and peaceful international cooperation. RLS cooperates with project partners in Israel since 2002. Its Tel Aviv office was opened in 2009 (www.rosalux.org.il).
About the positionWe are seeking a part-time Project Manager (80% position, 32 hrs/week); workplace is Tel Aviv (with opportunity to work from home part time)
Your tasks and responsibilities:
• Initiating, conceptualizing, planning and implementing political education formats (such as trainings, round-table-discussions, briefings, conferences, research, publications) for RLS Israel in cooperation with our political partners and the progressive civil society, thereby linking local progressive struggles with struggles of the German, European, global left
• Providing expertise for German and international leftist actors and in the RLS network on political developments and progressive struggles in Israel with a special, but not exclusive focus on the Palestinian society in Israel as well as leftist initiatives for a just society based on values of equality, solidarity and equal rights for all
• Maintaining and expanding contacts of RLS Israel with local actors with a special, but not exclusive focus on the Palestinian society in Israel (e.g. civil society organizations/initiatives or political representatives)
• Planning, monitoring, administrating, reporting, and evaluating projects with external partners
• Close and proactive collaboration with your fellow Program Managers and the Office Director and search for synergies and joint initiatives in your respective fields of work
• Close and proactive collaboration with the Financial Department on all matters related to budget, administration and German guidelines on the work of RLS Israel
• Contributing to our Social Media channels (i.e. Facebook) in Hebrew/Arabic

Our requirements:
• Thorough understanding of the political and socio-economic situation in Israel with special focus on the Palestinian society as well as leftist initiatives for a just society based on values of equality, solidarity and equal rights for all
• In-depth knowledge of Israel’s left-wing discourses, groups/actors, history
• Extensive knowledge of and contacts within Israel’s progressive civil society, institutions, political actors, Palestinian communities
• Understanding of and/or willingness to learn about the German and global left-wing discourses in relation to the discourses in Israel/Palestine
• Commitment to the core values and ideals of the RLS
• High motivation and ability to initiate and lead own projects for RLS Israel
• Experience in working with civil society partners and in project management
• Ability to conceptualize, organize, write and edit texts on a high level
• Ability to communicate effectively to diverse audiences
• Ability to design and write political analyses and policy recommendations
• Mother-tongue level Arabic
• Excellent knowledge of English and/or Hebrew highly important
• Ability to cooperate in a small, yet very diverse team
• Three months of probation time
