When Uri Mishali attended a conference of the American organization “Games for Change” he realized the potential computer games had for bringing about change in various strata of the society in Israel – Jews, Arabs, religious and non-religious – not necessarily related to cultural identity. Computer games could bring about interaction between persons with different ethnic identities where every player is equal to each other, enabling them to select identities which need not be his own. Thus if a number of players from different backgrounds participated in computer games with specific goals this could lead to changes in attitudes to various cultures. Uri Mishali met with a number of Hightech investors involved in intercultural activities in both the Jewish and Arab sectors and together created 2013 an organization they called “Games for Peace”
